. ABSTRACTThis work was done at the laboratory of the Fisheries and Marine Technology, Imo State polytechnic Umuagwo-Ohaji. Two plant products, Myristica fragans and Aframomum melegueta obtained from the local market were pulverized and dissolved in Alcohol and water at concentrations of 1g/l, 1.5g/l, 2g/l, 2.5g/l, 3g/l, 3.5g/l and 4g/l. Chunks of Clarias gariepinus (1cm Thick) were soaked in above solution for 24hours.
