Abstract

ABSTRACT    This study set out to investigate the impact of exchange rate on inflation in Nigeria, time series data from 1981 to 2009 period are use and various econometric tools such as cointegration and error correction modeling (ECM) were employed to carry out the empirical analysis.      The result of the study shows that exchange rate depreciation has a weak negative effect on inflation in short run and a stronger negative effect on inflation in the long run.  It is imperative for the monetary authorities to recognize the relative importance of the suppl…
