ABSTRACTThis study examined the extent to which the informal financial sector mobilized savings for rural development in Nigeria using Delta State as a case study. The empirical analysis was performed using simple percentages and the statistical tool of Student T-test to determine the traditional savings and loans institutions contribution to development through their operations, access to funds, and developmental tendencies.
