ABSTRACT  Evidences have implicated free radicals or reactive oxygen species in mercuric chloride-induced nephrotoxicity. Diphenyl diselenide (PhSe)2, a simple and stable organoselenium compound, has been proposed as a good candidate for pharmacological and therapeutic purposes.
