Abstract
Savings and Credit Co-operatives commonly referred to as Saccos are a form of Credit Union bodies which in turn is a form of major part of the cooperative movement. They are basically member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperatives that provide savings, credit and other financial services to their members. They pool their members’ savings deposits and shares to finance their own loan portfolios rather than rely on outside capital.
