ABSTRACT This research project examines the challenges confronted by a developing country such as Uganda in continuing with legal provisions that gives death penalty a chance to exist. Despite facing acute and intractable problems of poverty, Uganda has moved a step to adopt some of the provisions of International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights of 1966, the Convention on the Rights of the Child 1989, United Nations General Assembly and African Charter on Human Rights and People's Rights of 1981.
