ABSTRACT Microsphere drug delivery systems are used to protect sensitive drugs from enzymatic degradation in the body, for controlled release and tissue targeting of the drug of interest. Starch and products derived from starch modification, are increasingly gaining acceptance in microsphere drug delivery.
