ABSTRACTThe study centres on the Rites of passage in Mbosi, Community in Ihiala Local Government of Anambra State. Of particular concern to this study are Birth, Puberty, Marriage and Death rites. This stages in the life of an individuals are discussed with emphasis on the impact they have on the individual and the community in general. The method adopted is historical and phenomenological. One major finding is that rites of passage in Mbosi are as old as the community itself and has survived the onslaught of Christianity and other change agents.
