ABSTRACT United Nations Joint Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS)/ Wold Health Organisation (WHO) statistics estimate that 33 million people worldwide are infected with HIV. Women face the greatest risk of acquiring HIV due to substantial mucosal exposure to seminal fluids, prevalence of non-consensual sex and sex without condom use.
