An Assessment Of Some Soil Quality Indicators In Dekina Local Government Area Of Kogi State A Case Study Of Abocho, Egume, And Ojikpadala

ABSTRACT The study was carried out in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State to determine the soil quality indicators. Among the towns which the research was carried out are ABOCHO, EGUME, AND OJIKPADALA. The area is characterized by sandy layer, sand content ranged between 78.6% and 84.6%, silt ranged between 1.72% and 4.72% and clay ranged from 13.68% to 17.68%.The pH of the soil was found to be acidic and ranged between 4.8 and 6.9.The soil organic carbon ranged between 0.57% and 1.04%.Total nitrogen ranged between 0.03% and 0.08%.
