ABSTRACT Prayer centres appeared in Ghanaian Christianity in the early parts of the twentieth century and were mainly found within the African Initiated Churches (AICs). They later became prominent in Classical Pentecostal Churches, especially the Church of Pentecost (CoP) with most of them seceding to become independent ministries.
